Varanasi Temple Tour

Varanasi or erstwhile Banaras is an ancient city in Uttar Pradesh regarded as the oldest living city in India, situated on the Banks of the river Ganga is regarded as a “Holy” city of Hindus, Jains and the Buddhists, being one of the most sacred pilgrimage places for all denominations and one of the seven most holy places for Hindus in India,

"Simhastha Kumbh Maha Parv" is one of the four "Kumbh Melas" celebrated as largest spiritual gathering on the planet earth. Simhastha Kumbh Maha Parv event is rejoiced by taking holy dip on the banks of river Kshipra in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh state in India. This event is based on the celestial line-up of planets and the signs of the zodiac, which occurs in every 12 years.
The following chart gives the astrological periods of the four melas, and the years of their most recent and future occurrences:
Haridwar...when Jupiter is in Aquarius and the Sun is in Aries during the Hindu month of Caitra (March-April); 1986, 1998, 2010, 2021,
Allahabad...when Jupiter is in Aries or Taurus and the Sun and Moon are in Capricorn during the Hindu month of Magha (January-February); 1989, 2001, 2012, 2024,
Nasik.....when Jupiter and the Sun are in Leo in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada (August-September); 1980, 1992, 2003, 2015.
Ujjain.....when Jupiter is in Leo and the Sun is in Aries, or when Jupiter, the Sun, and the Moon are in Libra during the Hindu month of Vaisakha (April-May); 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016.
Do not miss the opportunity and embrace your soul and material body with the sacred nectar bestowed by God.
On the grounds of cultural and religious classical music centre was developed in Varanasi, and many prominent Indian philosophers, poets, writers, and musicians resided or reside in Varanasi, Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath located near Varanasi, often refer to this place as "the city of temples", "the holy city of India", "the religious capital of India", "and the city of lights", and "the city of learning," So Ghats, temples, magnum opus religious traditions and divine tranquility are ubiquitous in Varanasi, its culture is closely related to river Ganga,

The Kashi Naresh (Maharaja of Kashi) is the chief cultural patron of Varanasi and an essential part of all religious celebrations. The Kingdom of Kashi was an independent Bhumihar Brahmin state until 1194, became a British territory in 1775, and became a state in 1911, since 18th century it has been the home of Kashi Naresh, even today, Kashi Naresh is deeply revered by the people of Benares, consider him as religious head and incarnation of Lord Shiva.

Varanasi has nearly 100 Ghats, many of the Ghats were built when the city was under Maratha control, most of the Ghats are bathing Ghats, while others are used as cremation sites, many of the Ghats are associated with legends or mythologies while many Ghats are privately owned,

Maha Kumbh has a mesmerizing influence over the minds of Indians, as it is witness to the largest human gathering in history for the same cause on a single day irrespective of any worldly barriers of caste, creed, color and religion. It is once in a lifetime experience seeing millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world come together for a common goal-this spectacle of Faith is truly unforgettable. This festival is held in highest regard as the ritual bath in the sacred water on this day saturated with flower & incense fragrance amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras liberates one from all suffering and miseries of life.

The Kumbh Mela considered the most sacred and greatest of India festivals where the ceremonial dip in the Holy River is an important ritual. It is believed that bathing on the auspicious days cleanses one of all sins and attains Moksha (meaning liberation from the cycle of life, Death and Rebirth)
